New Valley Ice??

Just wanted to pass on some information LeAnna found on the newest rink in the valley. The Big Lake Lions club has started construction on their ice arena. The purpose of the new rink is to "provide ice time to practice-starved Valley hockey teams"...but at least it might free up some ice at the other facilities for figure skaters. Read the full article HERE.

As far as the remaining ice in the valley... The Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex is planning on having ice the first week in August and hopefully Palmer will have its ice in by the last week in July. There is currently quite a bit of available ice in Eagle River. If your planning on competing in the upcoming Bear Paw competition we would highly recommend that the skaters get at least a session or two on their ice prior to the competition. It's always good to be familure with the ice.
